FSDEA and Dubai Investment Park sign strategic agreement for the development of structuring real estate projects in the province of Luanda
The Angola Sovereign Wealth Fund (FSDEA) and Dubai Investments Park (DIP) today signed, in Luanda, a strategic agreement for the development of structuring real estate projects in the province of Luanda. The initiative aims to promote a new cycle of investments focused on modern urbanisation and the sustainable development of the capital, with particular emphasis on the utilisation of the Luanda archipelago, initially prioritising the development of Cazanga Island.
The agreement was signed, on behalf of Dubai Investments, by Mr. Khalid Jasim Mohammed Bin Kalban, Vice Chairman and CEO. Representing the Angola Sovereign Wealth Fund, the agreement was signed by Dr. Armando Manuel, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
On the occasion, the Vice Chairman & CEO of Dubai Investments, Mr. Khalid Jasim Mohammed Bin Kalban, emphasised that 'this is indeed a moment of great enthusiasm for us. Over the past year, we have worked in close collaboration — through several meetings and constructive discussions — that have brought us to this important milestone. We are proud to be an investment company headquartered in Dubai, with more than 30 years of experience, supported by the Government of Dubai. Our track record includes some of the most ambitious real estate projects in the United Arab Emirates. Today, we are taking a particularly significant step, as this project represents our second investment in Angola and one of our first real estate initiatives outside the Emirates.'
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of FSDEA, Dr. Armando Manuel, highlighted that 'the signing of this agreement strengthens the Sovereign Fund’s commitment to mobilising international capital and know-how for the development of high-impact real estate and tourism projects in the country. We believe that the real estate sector, combined with tourism, has enormous potential to transform the urban profile of our capital, enhancing its natural resources, its seafront, and its rich cultural heritage.'
Also speaking, the Secretary of State for Urban Planning, Manuel Canguezeze, representing the Minister of Public Works and Urbanism, underlined that 'this agreement is very important as it will add value to the area and bring architectural and panoramic quality to the capital city. It will also attract real estate investment that will strengthen the quality of the housing stock that Luanda requires.'
The ceremony was attended by distinguished personalities, including Jorge Miguêns, Vice Governor of Luanda for the Economic Sector; Antoine Abboud, General Director of DAR Angola; as well as the members of the Board of Directors of the Angola Sovereign Wealth Fund (FSDEA), who witnessed this moment of great institutional and strategic relevance.
