FSDEA’s Commitment to Healthcare – World Health Day Spotlight
On this 7th of April – World Health Day, the Fundo Soberano de Angola (FSDEA) proudly highlights its strategic investments in Angola’s health sector, reinforcing its dedication to strengthening national pharmaceutical production and healthcare resilience.
Vitalflow – A Major Leap Forward
Currently under construction in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE), the Vitalflow project represents a major generic medicines manufacturing facility with impressive annual capacity:
1.7 billion tablets
50 million injectable vials
17.5 million litres of serum
4,745 tons of medical gases (oxygen and nitrogen)
This ambitious project is expected to generate over 150 direct jobs and 400 indirect jobs, significantly contributing to local employment and the healthcare value chain.
Ovihemba – Strategic Expansion in Huambo
In the Huambo Province, FSDEA is also investing in the Ovihemba factory – a smaller yet crucial pharmaceutical plant dedicated to the production of generic medicines. Once operational, it will produce:
100 million tablets annually
Additionally, Ovihemba will create over 30 direct jobs and 20 indirect jobs, fostering inclusive economic development in the region.
These initiatives reflect FSDEA’s long-term vision to support Angola’s self-sufficiency in essential medicine production and to promote sustainable development in the health sector in the region.
